The Nokia X6 is a pretty sleek handset; while the Sony Ericsson Vivaz shares similar specs (and is actually a little better in terms of specs) the X6 is significantly cheaper. So if 720p HD recording is not a requirement, then the X6 is a great fit for any multimedia nut.
The phone’s 3.2 inch TFT capacitive touch screen provides 360 x 640 pixels of resolution. This display screen is equipped with an accelerometer, a proximity sensor and a scratch resistant glass surface. It provides a decent resolution for viewing videos and websites. The screen response time is also pretty decent. With around 32GB of internal storage (depending on the model), media library space is no longer an issue. The device also sports a USB port for file transfers. The only problem is that the phone lacks a microSD card slot which means that users will have to make do with the internal memory size.
Anyway, the X6’s firmware will be bumped up to version 21.0.004 and it will have quite a lot of updates.
First is the Nokia Ovi software. Various Ovi components will be getting a few minor updates such as Ovi Store (1.5.6), Ovi Music, Ovi Sync (2.0), and Ovi Contacts (1.50.8). The browser will also be improved as well; it will be patched to version 7.2 and is expected to provide users with a better and faster web experience.
The Appshell will also be getting a less buggy version of the kinetic scrolling in the interface, while several new programs will be added in. A 30 day trial version of Shazam has been included in the OS along with a Rihanna service launcher, version 2.2 of Gimlet, and Mail for Exchange will be bumped up to version 2.9.210.
The update is now available for download through the Ovi service or the OTA function on the handset.

Earth friendly is the only way to go these days. With more powerful smartphones being made each generation of handsets, more and more existing mobile phone users find themselves trading off, selling or simply disposing of their older devices. Eventually, once a phone is simply too old to have any value, they are disposed off.
Sadly, many disposal options for mobile phones are not very well made, in fact, some are downright discouraging. Sony Ericsson’s Aspen however, is one phone that is designed to remind phone users of their obligation to this planet.
Each year, hundreds of metric tons in plastic waste are made by mobile handsets alone. Not to mention all the dangerous chemicals present in the screens and batteries, the mobile phone industry heavily responsible for creating a large content of the waste that cannot be recycled.
Sony Ericsson’s Aspen smart phone, part of the Greenheart series along with the Hazel and the Elm, shows users that buying good smart phones does not mean that you will have to buy outside of green. The Aspen is as green as a smart phone can be. The device uses over 50% recycled plastic and only uses water borne paint.
Of course, the Windows Mobile 6.5.3 experience is still intact. Despite being a recycled device, the whole user experience is fast and reliable –providing users with a phone that shows a new standard that other phone manufacturers should also follow.
The handset comes with a 2.4 inch TFT resistive touch screen display. This provides users with ample room for viewing web pages and even viewing videos. It is not as big as a basic touch screen handset’s display, but the portrait QWERTY keyboard makes the fit just right. Our initial reservations about the keyboard have been cleared up after the device has proven to be quite the smart phone when it comes to ease of use and responsiveness.
