Sony Ericsson SatioThe Sony Ericsson Satio mobile phone has finally been made available to the UK public, bringing along with it the most technology the manufacturer has ever crammed into a single handset.

Currently the only carrier offering the Satio is Vodafone, although the Orange website has a large “coming soon” logo stuck on top of the handset, so that looks promising.

There is speculation that the other major networks, O2 and T Mobile, will also be selling the Satio, however there is no official word yet on when this might be happening.

The Sony Ericsson Satio boasts a 12 mega pixel camera with a Xenon and LED flash, as well as including GPS and a wide screen touch display; all running under the Symbian S60 5th edition operating system.

Vodafone is currently offering the handset on a relatively costly 24 month contract, at either £35 or £40 – although the mobile phone itself comes free.

There has been no official statement from Orange yet about what kind of price range we can expect for the Sony Ericsson Satio when it joins their line up, however it is probably going to be similar to Vodafone. If you want to buy the mobile phone sim free, it will set you back £515.

All in all the Satio is a nice mobile phone, and well worth it’s high price tag – although the key marketing point for the device has always been the 12 mega pixel camera, the handset has a lot more to offer users than just pretty pictures and a good looking body; it boasts all the features we have come to expect from high end smartphones, in fact, while we see the camera as an awesome extra.
