The Samsung i5700 Galaxy Lite is a Heavy Smart Phone

Samsung Galaxy Lite i5700It does not take a rocket scientist to figure out that any mobile device named Lite is a variant of an already existing model. Oftentimes the Lite version will be a heavily watered down version of the original in order to bring a quasi-substitute for people who have a lower budget scale. Sadly, these budget phones are hardly anything close to the original. The Samsung i5700 Galaxy Lite on the other hand is an amazing re-do of the original Galaxy.

Taking It All In

The Galaxy Lite shares almost all the features of the original i7500 Galaxy. The only difference in hardware is that the Lite only has a 3.2 mega pixel camera and 1GB of storage while the original Galaxy had a 5 mega pixel camera and whooping 8GB of storage. However, aside from these two differences, everything else remains the same. Of course, the Lite also undertook a redesign in terms of external appearances. While the original Galaxy looked serious with its black finish, the Lite has a trendier look with its enamel white front and bright green back. We are assuming that the pack part is a replaceable part of the design.

The Galaxy Specs

The Galaxy Lite is a Quad Band smart phone that has a 3.2 inch touch screen and runs on Google’s Android mobile operating system. This mobile device is packed with mobile Google applications for Google Mail, GTalk, Google Maps and YouTube. It has web browsing capabilities and uses Wi-Fi, EDGE, 3G, HSDPA and GRPS connectivity. It also has a built in GPS receiver.

Overall Rating

The Samsung i5700 Galaxy Lite suffers badly from the loss of the internal 8GB of storage. While this can be complemented with a high capacity SD card, the jump from 8GB down to just 1GB is pretty harsh. If Samsung had at least kept 2 to 4GB then it would have been more acceptable.
