Sagem PUMA To Arrive In 2010

sagem-puma-phoneIt wasn’t so long ago that you would see kids playing football in boots made by either Adidas, Nike or Puma. They were all the big brands and the must have kit for, well, more or less everyone.

Now, in the lead up to the 2010 FIFA World Cup, Puma and Sagem have revealed that there is a Puma brand mobile phone headed our way, and that we can expect to lay our hands on it sometime next summer before the World Cup begins in South Africa.

Right now the handset is without a name, although it will almost definitely be a combination of the brand names Sagem and Puma, accompanied by a model number. It is also being speculated that the mobile phone will boast several different fitness related features, including a heart rate tracker and a pedometer, as well as some kind of rubber coating or jacket designed to protect the device from possible damage that could be caused if it were dropped or came loose from your pocket while out jogging, cycling or exercising. What we’d really like to see is some kind of in built GPS receiver so that users could track and chart their routes – but time will tell.

Although there are currently no specifications to speak of, it’s thought that the Sagem Puma mobile phone will include both 3G and Wi Fi connectivity, as well as, we hope, GPS. The handset will also likely be able to download various popular fitness apps, such as RunKeeper and Fitno.

The device will be sold in a number of mobile phone stores as well as at Puma sports shops.
