Look forward to the new Palm Pre

Held on the 8th – 11th of January in Las Vegas was the CES (Consumer Electronics Show). Such an event is never a letdown, which a number of giants in the mobile phone industry always read to unveil something new that they are really very excited about.

This year Palm unveiled its newest mobile phone to be released at some point in 2009, the Palm Pre. Expected to be released in the US in the first half of the year and closely followed by its released to the rest of the world.

Not only is Palm Pre the newest offering from Palm, but also the newest offering the Palm mobile platforms. The Palm Pre will be the first phone, to operate the webOS, something Palm are very excited about (more about this mobile platform in future blog posts).

So, what does the Palm pre offer?

  • 3 Megapixel camera
  • 3.1 inch touch screen
  • Wi-Fi capabilities
  • Bluetooth
  • Integrated GPS
  • Slide QWERTY keyboard
  • 8GB integrate memory

The Palm Pre features (mentioned above) will not light the world on fire (unlike the Nokia N97 due for release in Q2 2009), a standard smart phone that we all have come to expect. However, do not make your mind up yet, until you have heard more about the webOS mobile platform that will be run on this phone.
