LG GM750 – Available Now

LG GM750The LG GM750 is a neat, iPhone look alike mobile phone running under the Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system, and very similar to the company’s GM730 device.

It has a 3 inch touch screen display with a resolution of 240 x 400 pixels, a 5 mega pixel camera with auto focus and LED flash, supports 3.5G, GPS and Wi Fi connectivity; in other words it shares almost every hardware specific feature with the GM730.

We notice the key difference when we actually turn on the LG GM750 mobile phone, as it is preloaded with the Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional operating system, whereas its predecessor is a Windows Mobile 6.1 handset, although it can of course can be upgraded to 6.5.

There is not a lot of information currently available regarding the LG GM750, although it seems that the battery will be greater than that of the GM730, and the screen might have undergone some minor improvements. Both mobile phones have the same Qualcomm 528 MHz processor as is used in most Windows Mobile smartphones, and does the job well.

There is a lot of hype surrounding this new handset, although it is difficult to see why. Sure, Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system is new and improved over the 6.1 version, but users of the older GM730 can upgrade if they choose to. There is the S Class user interface, which is the biggest improvement we can see – it just makes the handset more pleasant to play with and navigate; but it still isn’t enough to make it worth the upgrade from the GM730, from what we can tell.

In the end it is a nice phone with a fair bit of hype, and those of you who are fans of LG but do not currently own the GM730 will likely find a good upgrade in the LG GM750.
