LG Arena MK900: new sclass 3d user interface

With the Mobile World Congress 2009 in Barcelona just round the corner, we see yet another mobile phone giant gives us a glimpse at its newest mobile phone release for 2009. This time it is LG and the “Arena” aka the MK900.

We will be giving you all the details about this new “flagship” mobile phone once we have all the specs from the Mobile World Congress; however what we do know is that it will include a brand new LG user interface, that may well compete with the big boys, including the Apple iPhone UI. Skott Ahn, CEO of LG had the following to say about the UI:

“The direct, intuitive, and dynamic S-Class UI will be unlike anything that has appeared on a mobile phone before…”

We are very excited about this new platform. LG have been spent a great deals of time developing their new mobile phone operating system, instead of trying to develop mobile phones based around third party platforms such as Windows Mobile and Symbian.

Anyhow, apart from this amazing new user interface, what can we expect to see on the LG Arena? The MK900 will be equipped with a 3 inch WVGA touch screen (allowing 800 x 480 pixel resolution), DivX and Dolby support, 5 mega pixel camera and the standard smart phone connectivity including: HSDPA data (up to 7.2Mbps), Wi-Fi and GPS.

The LG Arena MK900 is really going to make a huge splash when it is eventually released later on in the year. We will have a real competition on our hands with the Nokia N97, Toshiba TG01, Palm Pre and I’m sure a new Apple iPhone will all be coming in 2009.
