HTC Leo 1New photos of the HTC Leo seem to suggest that it may in fact be known by HTC as the Touch Pro 3. New information regarding the specifications has also emerged along with the photos, and if this information is true it could prove to be one of the hottest phones to come out this year.

The Leo is most noticeable for its exceptionally large 4.3″ capacitive screen which is certainly eye catching even when placed next to other large screened phones. The Leo will be one of the new phones to make use of Windows Mobile 6.5 although it is believed that this will be covered with TouchFlo 3D UI. Although the screen makes the Leo a very tall and wide phone its thickness is actually somewhat smaller than most touchscreens floating about and the photos seem to put paid to the speculation that the Leo will feature a QWERTY keypad.

The Leo does not just have a large screen to boast about, it also comes with a 1GHz Snapdragon processor and 320MB RAM on board which will make it one of the speediest phones on the market. Also thought to be included is 512MB flash memory and microSD card slot.

In terms of connectivity the Leo will operate on GSM and EDGE, and for 3G there will be WCDMA and HSPA support, as well as Bluetooth and WLAN being available. Also put to good use will be an accelerometer, or G-Sensor, which seems to be an essential part of any worthwhile touchscreen device, proximity sensor and ambient light sensor. The Leo is not let down by its camera either which will be 5 megapixels with autofocus and 2 x LED flash.

Whether it will be known as the Leo or Touch Pro 3 remains to be seen but it is expected to be up for grabs by the general public at some time in October with an official announcement rumoured for some time later this month.
