LG Optimus 2X Begins Pre-order

LG’s Optimus 2X is officially available on pre-order. The Tegra 2 device will be landing in Europe shortly is on sale at Expansys online store. The pre order begins at £499.99 which works out to be $800 at current exchange rates. There are also options for the phone to sport a contract which would bring the price to zero on such carries as Vodafone. Expansys claims the Optimus 2X will arrive in the UK on March 21.

Danish store Ellos also has the Optimus 2X for pre order for the nice sum of 3599 DKK which is about $650. They claim the device will ship in February, the 25th to be exact. On a side note, the phone is said to heading to the United States on T-Mobile’s network in March as well.

The phone features a list of high end specs including a 1GHz dual-core Tegra processor supplied by NVIDIA. On the rear of the device is an 8 megapixel camera as well as a 1.3 megapixel camera on the front that will serve for video conferencing. The camera’s rear camera also supports full 1080p video recording.

There is a 4-inch screen on the front that sports a WVGA touchscreen. This Android device will run Android 2.2 Froyo, but LG has said that it will get a 2.3 Gingerbread upgrade later on although there is no mention of an exact date. Rounding up the specs list is a 1500mAh battery, microUSB port and the ability to output full HD content via DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance). Onboard memory is capped at 4GB but there is a microSD card for expanding the memory.
