It is a pretty interesting week for the mobile phone industry and here is the quick list of all the newest devices that have popped out within the last couple of days.
First off, get ready to spend if you decide to go all out with your tablet purchase at Harrods. A fully decked out and crystal studded Samsung P1000 Galaxy Tab is available for the staggering price of 2,699 Pounds. This little piece of artwork and technology brings together over 5,700 piece of Swarovski crystals and of course, one of the most impressive touch screen tablets ever made. But if going all out is not your thing, then the 7 inch Android tablet can be acquired through network operators at a non-crystal studded, but ultimately more practical price tag.
Samsung has got a couple of new devices recently launched: the Continuum and the Zeal. While the Continuum appears to be a US exclusive (at the moment) the same is not to be said about the Zeal and its impressive E-ink keypad. However, no specific UK launch date has been given so we will have to keep an eye out for this handset.
Alcatel has also announced that it has a new handset coming our way, the OT-209 which is practically 99 pence under Virgin Mobile. The device can be obtained by buying a 10 Pound top up from Carphone Warehouse. Just because the device is cheap does not mean it is a bad phone. It features a colored VGA display, FM radio and has a decent battery life with about 5 hours of call time.
Lastly, T-Mobile has rebranded a ZTE handset into the Vibe, a new budget mobile handset that sports a touch screen display, plenty of social networking applications and most importantly, a slide out physical keyboard. The handset is currently available under T-Mobile’s pay as you go deals.
