Sony Ericsson Yendo Finally Gets Price Tag

Sony’s latest Walkman handset is going to set buyers back by a full 169 Euros, but that’s a pretty decent price to pay for this updated version of a much needed music handset.

It has been quite some time since the release of the last Sony Ericsson device that made use of the Walkman technology. While most smart phones of today also deliver excellent quality music playback, there is an unmistakable charm that simply attracts so many music lovers to the Walkman brand.

Maybe it is due to the fact that the Sony brand and the Walkman name are still synonymous to the concept of high quality portable music playback, and partly because of the fact that until today, electronics manufacturer Sony is still one of the largest forces in the media industry.

In any case, the Yendo updates the Walkman technology with a new touch screen display. It is known that it will be a 2.6 inch TFT capacitive touch screen display with a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels. The device only uses a 156MHz processor, but since it is not running a specialized operating system, it can do with the lower CPU speed.

The 2 mega pixel camera on the device can be considered by some as a bare minimum, but for a cheap handset with excellent music playback capabilities, it is a pretty decent trade-off.

Overall, the SE Yendo is a perfect fit for anyone who wants a great music phone and does not need anything else. While it certainly lacks access to services such as Spotify, anyone with an already updated digital music library could do without the need for streaming music.

With a low price tag and open availability across the UK, the Yendo is going to make a great alternative handset for everyone.
