Mobile Launch Dates for October Confirmed

Keeping track of launch dates can be quite a hassle, and in the case of certain devices, constant delays and issues tend to alter the schedule so badly that staying updated becomes a real chore.

While this may not seem to be much of an issue for most people, it is truly important for some –especially those who prefer to pre-order and make reservations for handsets. Anyway, there are three launches coming up that some of you folks might want to keep an eye out for.

Starting off with the big launch; Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7 is coming out and it has been confirmed that the OS will be released on the 11th of October. With the new mobile platform set to come out in just a month, what should we expect? Plenty of mobile phones.

The new OS is not launching on its’ own, there will be devices from a wide range of phone manufacturers such as LG, Motorola, Samsung, Sony Ericsson, Asus and more that would be showcasing the new platform in all of its glory. So far, it has been confirmed that there will be basic touch screen devices as well as touch screen and keyboard based phones coming out.

RIM’s BlackBerry Torch 9800 is also getting an October launch; set to come out on the 4th of that month is the newest addition to the BlackBerry series. The 9800 packs the latest version of the OS (BlackBerry OS 6) which focuses heavily on multimedia functionality. The new phone will have a large 3 inch touch screen display and a slide out keyboard.

Lastly, Nokia is finally launching the much awaited N8 Symbian handset near the end of September. Various sources have not been able to specifically confirm the launch date, though some reports indicate that an October 1 launch is quite likely.
