Two new phones that have been teased a lot in the past few weeks are coming out in headlines again: the HTC Vision and the Nokia N8.
The Nokia N8 has quite a history of being the most delayed phone. Originally set to launch last April, the device was pushed back due to undisclosed reasons that delayed the official release of the product and also dampened public interest for the phone.
When it was set to come out earlier this year, there was still a degree of public interest into the new look of the Symbian platform as the handset would be the first to display the Symbian Third OS. But with the launch constantly delayed and April seeing the start of many major Android releases, it was pretty much expected that a no-show handset would have no place in the hearts of the public.
However, it was recently announced that the device is now coming out, and according to reports, September 30 is the launch date for the N8. With the launch of the MeeGo based Nokia N9 due this coming December, Nokia’s window of opportunity for releasing the N8 is becoming slimmer and slimmer.
In other news, the HTC Android Vision handset has once again been popping up in leaked images. This time, the device appears in what seems to be a quick close up of the device’s keyboard and overall form factor. From the looks of it, nothing much has changed from the initial leaks of the Vision though there are now some reports that indicate that the device might be renamed to Vanguard eventually.
So far, there is no official launch date for the Vision though many believe that this Android smart phone will be available on store shelves before the end of the year.
