The Nokia X6 is a great smart phone: it works as a media station, a portable music player and even as a GPS device (thanks to the free sat nav services on Ovi Maps from Nokia). While the Symbian OS may not be to everyone’s taste, it is hard to deny that the X6 makes for a very practical smart phone choice when it comes to multimedia handsets.
One issue that some X6 owners might have is with the battery. Just like Apple‘s iPhone, the device is often reported as running out of charge early. While some users are able to get a day or two day’s worth of power on a full charge, some users simply cannot get through a single day without charging again. Here are some simply guidelines that users can follow to keep their device running longer.
The first is to bring accessories. Depending on where a user will be and what resources will be available at a destination, the tools needed vary. Extra batteries are always a great idea for people who simply do not have room to store the power charger and need to ensure that the phone is running. Having a charger is also a good idea –as well as a car adapter too. Those who are heavy users might want to consider buying a portable charger as well.
The second tip is to kill any background app that does not need to be running. All too often, users switch out of an app to answer a call or read a message and forget to go back to the software. In that regard, it is best to check with the device menu on the current running apps and shut down any old apps that are still running.
It may just be a couple of tips, but these are pretty important for any Nokia X6 user who needs an extra lease on their battery life.
