Apple is quite proud of their new operating system for the Apple iPhone, they even gave the OS an all new name to point out the that this latest version is entirely different from the old iPhone that we have all previously known. And while the UI looks suspiciously similar, there are plenty of new additions to show that world that Apple is taking its platform to a whole new level.
Icon management has always been an annoying issue for iPhone users. Aside from being able to arrange the groupings from iTunes, there is not much that a user can do –especially when you start clogging up the menus with hundreds of apps. Apple’s solution is to implement an intuitive folder system. Users can create custom folders for content or simply let the smart phone do the thinking by simply dragging an app over the other. This prompts the device to create a folder and automatically name it. Of course, users will have the option to rename any folder in the handset.
Depending on your network, users may now opt to hide their caller ID. While the feature is not all that useful when you are contacting friends and family, it is a great way for handling clients or suppliers without having to give away your personal number.
For users who live with children or nosey roommates, a function restrict feature is available. This locks out plenty of features ranging from browsing, to camera use, and even app installation. It is a great way to ensure your phone and its settings are not altered by other people picking through the device.
Finally, for heavy texters, there is now an option to get a live and active count of the characters used for every message sent. It is a great way to manage what you are saying without worrying about the amount of text you might have written.
