Since Apple is too busy to actually fix any of the real problems on the Apple iPhone 4, Techradar has compiled a very useful list of things that users can do to improve, enhance or simply fix the eternally error-some Apple smart phone. Here are some items from the list.
First, the iPhone needs a case. The big 25 Pound Sterling solution would be to order one of Apple’s iPhone bumpers –which they stubbornly refuse to give away for free (since it actually fixes the antenna issue). The antenna of the iPhone loses reception when it is touched by a bare hand during operation. A case around the sides would help fix the problem. If you cannot shell out the cash, one can also apply a tape or nail polish on the side. Not quite as stylish on the bumper but it is free if you have either one readily available.
Since Apple is tied up to Tom Tom and the iOS lacks free sat nav services, users can turn to the newly launched Skobbler app. This new function will bring to users Google’s free sat nav services without any hassle. While it seems that Apple has no plans of shutting down this app, there is always the possibly that they might so iPhone users are advised to get this app as soon as they can.
For those who want to make the most out of the front facing camera, forget the super limited FaceTime feature. Instead, use the Fring application. This will allow iPhone 4 users to have voice chat sessions not only with other Apple users, but also with people on Android, and other operating systems.
For those whose SIM cards are not built in the micro format, there are plenty of guides online that would help you trim down the card to fit into the iPhone 4. Be warned, the process is not only irreversible, but could also damage the SIM if you are not careful. Only attempt this if you are sure of your skills.
