The next handset in the C-series from Nokia has just been announced. Keeping in line with the set’s budget 2G standards, the C3 is a simple candy bar handset with a front facing QWERTY keyboard.
The Nokia C3 is coming to UK store shelves by June 18. While the handset is not a smart phone, it certainly looks like one. The matte finish and the wide keyboard layout provide users with a very good looking handset that fits well even in an office environment (unless you choose the bright pink one that is –the gray and white versions on the other hand are not as loud). The QWERTY keyboard is both easy to use and comfortable to grasp, and it finishes off the look of the handset with a touch of class.
In terms of features, this handset has been loaded with plenty of goodies, the device’s social networking integration gives users access to the latest status updates from Facebook, Twitter and of course, Nokia’s very own Ovi network. However, the lack of 3G will force users to seek out the nearest WiFi hotspot instead. The phone does support GPRS and EDGE for when you really need to connect online.
The 2 mega pixel camera is a good fit for mid range 2G handset; with 1600 x 1200 pixel images and QCIF video recording at 15 frames per second it makes for a decent phone camera. Users will certainly want to get a 16GB SD card to supplement the small 55MB of internal storage. The Nokia C3 is able to handle a wide variety of audio and video formats –giving users plenty of entertainment choices on the go.
The device’s 2.4 inch 320 x 240 pixel TFT screen provides users with pretty clear images, and the horizontal lines provide ample space for fine text even when browsing. The Opera Mini browser is both fast and stable –which supports the device’s WiFi capability.
