Samsung is Picking up the Pace

Samsung Galaxy S (1)While Samsung has been staying out of the spotlight in these past few weeks, the company has been busy making plenty of sales. With their high-end offerings for 2010 still not coming until a couple months more, Samsung’s sales have been relying heavily on their low to mid range handsets.

There is no doubt that Samsung’s design aesthetic is a favorite among mobile phone users. The use of the TouchWiz user interface also increases its value for people who are not too keen on having to spend lots of time just to figure out a new device.

In terms of sales, the Korea-based company has been making a steady progress from their performance last year. According to reports, their income this first quarter of 2010 is significantly larger than their earnings for the same period last year –surpassing the previous number by well over 6 billion Euros.

Still, with high end devices coming from HTC, Apple and many other developers coming later this year, Samsung will have to have its own line of super devices ready. The Galaxy S and the Wave smart phone are already confirmed to be heading to the UK this coming June and there is also word that the manufacturer is already working on their first Windows Phone 7 handset.

The Galaxy S is the first Android smart phone from Samsung that will be using the new 1GHz Snapdragon processor. Aside from being packed with the usual Android features, the device will also be using Samsung’s TouchWiz UI, the Social Hub, SmartLife and several other new features.

Samsung fans might recognize the Social Hub from the earlier announcements about the Wave smart phone as the device is the first to use Samsung’s social networking feature. The Bada loaded smart phone also runs on a 1GHz processor and has a 3.3 inch super AMOLED touch screen.
