Vodafone Gives out Free Internet

vodafone-logo2Friday saw the release of Vodafone’s free internet promo. Both pay-as-you-go and pay monthly clients were able to make use of the offer and for one single day, enjoy unlimited internet access. When you see deals and offers like this, it is hard to not see the happy Christmas spirit in the air.  The best part is that Christmas has not even started yet so expect to see re-occurrences of this offer in the next few weeks.

Last Friday’s net access will not count as part of the bill. Even those on mobile internet bundle plans will be able to download without worrying about the monthly data allowance (or so the official site says).

It is an interesting piece of news since a few weeks back; three French men had problems with their unlimited internet deals. One did not read the fine print to clarify that the only thing unlimited was time but the monthly download allowance was only good for 1GB, the other two did not take into account the roaming charges for accessing the network outside the UK.

Back to Vodafone, the site listing URL indicates a plural Fridays, though the exact details on the site itself specifies that the offer was for last Friday, November 27. The official word on Vodafone’s site is literally “free last Friday”. The promotion was to commemorate the coming of Christmas which was only 28 days away. Vodafone even lists 28 ways users can make the most out of the free internet. Hopefully, Vodafone has other promotions like this to make the holiday countdown even more exciting.

So far, no one has commented on whether the connection last Friday was fast enough to enjoy. The sheer thought of all those people taking advantage of free net access conjures some of the most frightening experiences of lag.
