LG Joins in on the Android Fun

android-logoI would have liked to say the bandwagon, but it simply does not sound right. After all, the Android operating system is the not the premiere OS for mobile devices. Any hardcore mobile phone user will tell you that Google’s proprietary OS is where it is at. Combining excellent features with OS stability and speed is where the Android shines best.

It also has a really robot logo (and here I thought Androids were supposed to look like humans in terms of appearance). Anyway, before we go off the point, Google’s Android is the best in terms of performance, but more devices use the Windows Mobile OS.

There is a lack of available mobile phones that actually use the Google Android OS, this is why these past few months have brought tears of joy to Android fans as many companies announced that they will be creating Android smart phones.

The biggest news was Sony Ericsson and Acer announcing that not only will they be creating Android devices, but they will be using the Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. This is a major announcement since the Snapdragon processor runs at 1 GHz (though it can run higher). Having an Android phone with that much hardware is truly exciting.

LG just decided to add more pleasant surprises by announcing that they too would be releasing an LG Snapdragon Android. This makes for a total of three high end Android devices by 2010. While no exact release dates are confirmed, Android fans will truly enjoy the coming year as these mobile phones launch at their respective release dates. So far, no carriers have shown tie ups to any of the upcoming phones, but we can safely assume that we will encounter some very tempting contracts.
